Habitat and Distribution
Prefers rocky habitats such as ranges and gorges, particularly those bordering watercourses in the north of Australia.
About the animal:
- A large snake that can grow up to 6.5m in the Pilbara, the average is about 2.75m;
- Colour varies from fawn to dark olive brown. The belly is cream;
- A nocturnal python;
- Males are aggressive to each other during mating season;
- Oviparous (lays eggs).
What they eat?
Adults ambush mammals and birds, younger individuals also eat lizards.
