MULGA SNAKE - KING BROWN

Habitat and Distribution

Found in a variety of habitats across Australia (except southern coastal regions).

About the animal:

  • A large snake that can grow up to 3m long, the average is about 1.5m;
  • Colour varies from pale brown to almost black, The belly is cream to yellow;
  • Can be encountered both day and night;
  • If provoked it may become defensive, flattening the forebody in a striking stance;
  • Oviparous (lays eggs).

What they eat?

King Brown feeds on small mammals and reptiles including snakes.
